James Kennedy Ally Lewber Vanderpump Rules Breakup

BURBANK, Calif. — James Kennedy and Ally Lewber have ended their relationship, one month after the “Vanderpump Rules” star was arrested on domestic violence charges. Lewber confirmed the breakup on her Instagram Stories Wednesday, following the announcement that Kennedy will not face criminal charges for the December 2024 incident.

“I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges,” Lewber wrote. “We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt. I was shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed.”

Kennedy was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, after police responded to a domestic disturbance at his Los Angeles home. A Burbank Police Department spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that officers arrived following a report of an argument between a man and a woman. The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to Kennedy’s arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence. He was later released on $20,000 bail.

Lewber was not named by authorities at the time, but the couple had been seen together earlier that evening at Lisa Vanderpump‘s annual holiday party. Despite the breakup, Lewber expressed her continued support for Kennedy, stating, “We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing.”

Kennedy’s attorney, Scott Leemon, confirmed Wednesday that the Burbank City Attorney's Office will not pursue charges. “I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter involving my client,” Leemon said in a statement. “Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning — there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy.”

Leemon added that Kennedy is “grateful to have this matter behind him” and is focused on his sobriety and DJ career. The Burbank City Attorney’s Office has not yet responded to requests for comment.

Kennedy and Lewber, who began dating in January 2022, were both featured on Bravo‘s “Vanderpump Rules.” The reality series, which follows the staff of restaurants owned by Lisa Vanderpump, is set to reboot with an entirely new cast later this year.

Lewber, an astrologer, previously revealed that she became familiar with Kennedy through the show during the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple moved in together in June 2023 and shared two cats and a dog named Graham, now renamed.
