Jamie Foxx And Daughter Corinne Emotional Moment

Los Angeles, California — Jamie Foxx reflected on a harrowing health scare while attending Netflix’s FYSEE LA event on May 29, grateful for the unwavering support of his daughter, Corinne. The 57-year-old entertainer shared a personal moment with the audience, expressing deep emotion as he discussed the life-threatening challenges he faced.

During a Q&A session with Corinne, 31, Foxx opened up about his near-death experience following a brain bleed that caused a stroke in April 2023. ‘I said one day I was gonna stop crying,’ Foxx stated. ‘But I got a feeling I’ll never stop crying, because you were special.’ His heartfelt words resonated with both fans and attendees.

Foxx’s medical ordeal left him unconscious for 20 days, waking up in a hospital wheelchair with little memory of the incident. Yet, he vividly remembers his daughter standing by his side throughout the recovery process.

In his new Netflix comedy special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was,” he reveals more about his journey. ‘Your life doesn’t flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful,’ Foxx says of his experience. ‘I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. S***, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf****?’ His humorous tone in the special belies the severity of his condition.

Foxx also praised the healthcare team at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, recalling a nurse who called him ‘a miracle.’ The nurse told him that ‘less than 3% of people that come in with what you had leave here. We usually put ’em in a box.’ This touching acknowledgment underscored the gravity of his situation.

Now recovering and looking toward the future, Foxx expressed gratitude for his life and the opportunity to watch his daughter grow. ‘I’m just glad God gave me the opportunity to get back,’ he told her. ‘So I could see what you’re going to do because you’re going to shock the world,’ he added, closing on an optimistic note.
