Jamie Lee Curtis Podcast Charlie Kirk Assassination

Los Angeles, California – Actress Jamie Lee Curtis recently expressed her condolences following the assassination of Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk during an appearance on the “WTF” podcast with Marc Maron. Curtis acknowledged that while she disagreed with Kirk’s political views, she felt sympathy for his family after their tragic loss.

During the podcast, Curtis mispronounced Kirk’s name but quickly corrected herself. She emphasized the importance of acknowledging Kirk as a husband, father, and man of faith. “I mean, I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith,” she stated.

Curtis reflected on the violence pervading society today, noting that repeated exposure to graphic content can desensitize viewers. She raised concerns about the psychological effects of watching violent events unfold repeatedly, citing the issues surrounding sharing such content online. “We are bombarded with imagery, so we don’t know what the longitudinal effects are,” she mentioned.

Connecting her thoughts to the remembrances of September 11, Curtis expressed worry that society may be growing numb to violence. She said, “We don’t know enough psychologically about what that does. What does that do?” She added clearly, “I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot. Is that the reason why we’re all feeling this lack of humanity? Because we are just saturated with these images?”

Curtis’s commentary follows an ongoing discourse about the impact of violent media on societal behavior, highlighting the need for reflection on how frequently we view such content.
