Jamie Oliver Launches Cooking Education Platform for Students

LOS ANGELES, CA — Chef Jamie Oliver, known for his culinary skills and commitment to healthy eating, has launched an educational initiative called Jamie’s 10 Skills Food Education. This platform provides free cooking and nutrition lessons to middle and high school students across the United States.
On April 29, 2025, Oliver appeared on a live cooking demonstration to teach families how to prepare simple and nutritious meals, bringing attention to the importance of cooking skills. His new Netflix series, “Chef’s Table: Legends,” also highlights his culinary journey and advocacy.
During the demonstration, Oliver shared recipes for green chopped salad and classic tomato spaghetti. He emphasized the versatility of ingredients in the spaghetti sauce, stating, “Once you’ve made this a few times, you can add other simple ingredients, like baby spinach or frozen peas to transform it.”
Oliver provided clear instructions for cooking the spaghetti to perfection, urging home cooks to season the cooking water with salt for better flavor absorption.
In discussing the importance of salads, he noted, “Chopped salads are incredibly simple to make. Just make sure to use a sharp knife and your biggest cutting board.” He recommended incorporating crunchy lettuce and fresh herbs for enhanced texture and flavor.
As an advocate for healthy eating, Oliver explained, “The most important part of a salad is the dressing. It should be a pleasure, not a chore!” He also shared several dressing recipes, highlighting how a well-made dressing enhances the enjoyment of the meal.
Jamie’s 10 Skills Food Education aims to empower the next generation with essential cooking knowledge. With support from parents and schools, Oliver hopes to inspire children to develop a love for cooking and healthy eating.
