Jane Lynch Celebrity Weakest Link Glee Reunion

NEW YORK, NY – Jane Lynch, known for her role as Sue Sylvester in the hit show ‘Glee,’ reunited with several former co-stars in the season premiere of ‘Celebrity Weakest Link’ on September 15. The show airs Mondays on Fox at 9 p.m.

Lynch, 65, expressed her excitement about wearing the iconic tracksuit of her character once again, stating, “I was thrilled. I put the tracksuit on again.” She revealed that the outfit she once owned was donated to an auction, prompting the production team to make a new one for her.

This special reunion episode featured several ‘Glee’ cast members, including Chord Overstreet, Becca Tobin, Heather Morris, Dot-Marie Jones, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Max Adler, and Alex Newell. ‘Glee’ aired for over 100 episodes from 2009 to 2015.

Lynch noted her surprise at how well Overstreet and Morris performed, commenting on their characters’ portrayal as “kind of dim” on the show. “I guess I probably protected them,” she added. “They surprised me. They were wonderful.”

While she keeps in touch with Morris and Tobin, Lynch mentioned she sees Overstreet and Jones often. “Matt [Morrison] wasn’t on [Celebrity Weakest Link], he’s out touring, but I still consider him a good friend,” she said.

Reflecting on her co-stars’ varied careers since ‘Glee’, Lynch noted, “I mean, the talent always rises to the top. Becca’s got a great podcast. Lea is doing gangbusters. Darren has just soared. I think talent wins out.”

In the upcoming episodes, Lynch talked about her surprise with actress Monica Potter, who will appear in the ‘TV Moms’ episode. “She looks like she’s spacey and kind of out of it. She didn’t seem connected, but she was brilliant,” Lynch shared. “There were a couple of rounds where she answered every question correctly, that doesn’t happen. She surprised me.”

As the host, Lynch shared that she adopts a persona while on the show. “You know, I act like I love it, my [game show host] character kind of relishes telling people to take a hike [when they’re sent home]. But inside, I don’t feel great,” she confessed. “But we do it all in good fun. Everybody knows the gig, nobody takes it personally.”
