Jane Lynch Joins Cast of ‘The Conners’ for Final Season

LOS ANGELES, CA — Emmy-winner Jane Lynch is set to reprise her television role as an attorney in the seventh and final season of ABC‘s popular comedy series, ‘The Conners.’ Her character, Jean, will appear in two episodes, starting with the March 26 premiere.
In the first episode, Jackie Harris, portrayed by Laurie Metcalf, discovers a chance to sue the pharmaceutical company behind her late mother Roseanne’s addiction, igniting a family debate. According to the show’s logline, this conflict sets the stage for Lynch’s character to enter the storyline.
Lynch’s character, described as “a seedy lawyer in a cheap suit,” will assist the Conner family in their legal battles. “The Conners hire her to help them sue the pharmaceutical company responsible for Roseanne’s death,” the breakdown explains. “Only problem is she might have a bit of a drinking problem.”
The second episode featuring Lynch is scheduled to air on April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
She is among several notable guest stars appearing in the final season. Zoe Perry, known for her role in ‘Young Sheldon,’ will also return as a police officer challenging Jackie’s decision to consider rejoining the force at her current age. Meanwhile, acclaimed actor Seth Green, famous for his work on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ will portray Chad, a new friend to Darlene, who is navigating a personal separation.
Executive producer Dave Caplan described Chad and Darlene’s connection, stating, “They’re closer in personality than she is to David or Ben. They’re both kind of dark, kind of snarky, kind of cynical.” Co-executive producer Bruce Helford reinforced this sentiment, mentioning the similarities between the characters.
‘The Conners’ has garnered significant attention as it wraps up its final season, stirring conversations about its legacy. Fans eagerly anticipate Jane Lynch’s guest appearance and the culmination of the series. The season’s premiere will be available for streaming on Hulu the day after it airs.
