Utah Jazz Vs Miami Heat January 4 2025

MIAMI — The Utah Jazz snapped a five-game losing streak with a commanding 136-100 victory over the Miami Heat on Saturday night at the Kaseya Center. Keyonte George led the charge with a career-high 34 points, while Collin Sexton added 24 points. The Jazz dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Heat 40-19, and never looked back.

John Collins contributed a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds, and all five Jazz starters scored in double figures. Lauri Markkanen (17 points), Walker Kessler (15), and Jordan Clarkson (11) rounded out the balanced offensive effort. For the Heat, Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 17 points, and Bam Adebayo added 16, but Miami struggled without suspended star Jimmy Butler.

Butler was sidelined after being disciplined by the team for conduct detrimental to the organization. His absence was felt as Miami shot just 3 of 22 from three-point range in the first half. The Jazz capitalized on their rebounding advantage, outrebounding the Heat 63-42, and built their largest lead of 43 points in the fourth quarter.

The loss marked the sixth-largest home defeat in Heat history and their worst since a 144-97 loss to Milwaukee on December 29, 2020. Miami closed a three-game homestand with consecutive double-digit losses to sub-.500 teams, raising questions about their consistency.

The Jazz, meanwhile, ended a three-game road losing streak and improved to 17-16 on the season. They will look to build on this momentum as they visit the Orlando Magic on Sunday night. The Heat, now 21-15, begin a six-game road trip on Monday against the Sacramento Kings.
