Jeff Hiller Comedian Celebrity Memoirs

NEW YORK, NY — Comedian Jeff Hiller has found a new passion for listening to celebrity memoirs while exercising. In an interview with Page Six, Hiller shared, “Celebrity memoirs aren’t the only books I read, but I definitely have a soft spot for them.” The star of HBO‘s ‘Somebody Somewhere’ discovered a joy in audiobooks, especially during his workout routines.

Reflecting on his life, the middle-aged gay man said, “There comes a time when you just have to embrace your love for celebrity stories, like Candice Bergen‘s fascinating life.” Hiller has a collection of autobiographical essays titled “Actress of a Certain Age,” which was released on June 10.

“I want my book to make readers feel as though they’re spending time with a friend; I hope it makes them laugh out loud in public and feel a bit silly doing so,” Hiller explained. He emphasized his aim to celebrate individual quirks, saying, “At the end of the day, we’re all a little weird.”

In addition to discussing his own writing, Hiller recommended six must-read celebrity memoirs. He praised Perez Hilton‘s book for its intelligence and creativity, stating, “Her distinctive writing style is a pleasure to read, and the audiobook version features her actual voice, adding a personal touch!”

He also highlighted Michelle Tyson’s memoir as insightful, mentioning her discussion of serious topics alongside lighter moments. Hiller admired Grant‘s account of being blacklisted in Hollywood and her Oscar win later in life. He found Davis’s memoir fascinating due to her unique experiences.

“Peterson sheds her Elvira persona to share heartfelt and humorous stories from her life, including her early days as a Las Vegas showgirl,” he remarked. Lastly, Hiller mentioned how Barbeau’s candid stories from her career, including her role in Broadway’s ‘Grease’, added humor to her memoir.

Through humor and vulnerability, Hiller continues to draw inspiration from the lives of others, reminding readers that connection and laughter are paramount.
