New York City, NY — Jenna Bush Hager and her twin sister, Barbara Bush, celebrated their special bond on the March 24 episode of “Today with Jenna and Friends,” while highlighting their latest literary endeavor together. During the show, the sisters discussed their new children’s book, an ode to nature and their mother, former first lady Laura Bush.

“Today is a celebration of sisterhood and storytelling,” said Jenna, who has been part of the TODAY family since 2009. “We grew up together as twins, and I can’t imagine my life without her beside me.” The twins discussed their childhood experiences, including their unique privilege of sharing a birthday, November 25, 1981.

In a segment titled “Social Dilemmas,” a viewer asked for advice on how to break the news to a twin that they wanted to celebrate a birthday separately. Jenna’s response referenced a past instance when she opted to host a solo birthday party, causing light-hearted banter between the sisters.

“If I had told you about it, I would have been very supportive,” Barbara said, drawing laughter from the studio audience.

When asked about their mother, Laura, who joined the show as a special guest, Barbara noted the deep respect they have for her influence. “Mom has always been our greatest supporter, and we learned so much about love from her.” Laura reminisced about reading books to them when they were children, a practice that ignited their passion for literacy.

Laura Bush, who now enjoys being a grandmother to five, expressed her joy: “I’m thrilled to have grandchildren. We can play with them, and then we can send them all back to their parents!” Jenna added, “One of my daughters dreams of moving next door to Grammy and Jefe,” referencing their grandfather George W. Bush.

The playful dynamics were clear as the sisters spoke about their new book, which they dedicated “For our parents who taught us how to love, and for our children who showed us how much we could.”

As the episode concluded, the conversation turned to the twins’ efforts in publishing children’s literature, with Jenna emphasizing the importance of schools and libraries in promoting reading. “Our mom has inspired so many librarians and families to embrace books,” she said.

Fans of Jenna and Barbara are thrilled to see their enduring bond and shared projects continue to thrive. As Jenna put it, “It’s all about supporting one another, just like we always have.”
