Jenna Bush Hager Henry Hager Today Show Co Host

NEW YORK — Jenna Bush Hager‘s husband, Henry Hager, is set to make his co-hosting debut on the TODAY show, joining Jenna for special episodes on March 27 and 28. The decision reflects a personal leap for Henry, who has primarily worked in finance. The pair’s collaboration aligns with the show’s ‘Family Week‘ theme, which celebrates family bonds and shared experiences.

During a pre-show discussion, Jenna, 43, shared that the inspiration for Henry’s involvement arose from a poignant line in a Mary Oliver poem: “What are you going to do with your one wild and precious life?” This sentiment resonated with Henry, prompting him to accept the co-hosting offer after initially declining last year. “I said, Let’s do this,” Henry said backstage.

“He’s been supportive of me for 20 years, so I probably wouldn’t even have this job if it wasn’t for him,” Jenna reflected, highlighting their partnership’s significance. The couple resides in New York with their three children, Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and Hal, 5.

Henry acknowledged the challenge of stepping into the spotlight, admitting, “It’s not really my cup of tea. She’s excellent at it. I do something really different for work.” Despite the differences, his primary motivation is support for Jenna, creating a dynamic shared experience.

Leading into the episodes, Henry has been actively engaged, preparing by consulting with TODAY’s production team. Jenna remarked, “He’s been texting with all of the producers. He has ideas, I don’t know any of them,” showing both excitement and nervousness for his debut where he will also participate in interviews, including one with “The White Lotus” star Leslie Bibb.

A mix of family members will co-host across the week, including Jenna’s twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush. Barbara will guest host on March 24 and 25, while Henry is expected to cap the events on the final days of Family Week.

The engagement has piqued fan interest, with many expressing enthusiasm for Jenna’s family taking the spotlight. Comments on social media have included requests for former President George W. Bush to make an appearance, emphasizing the family’s public recognition.

A heartwarming aspect of the upcoming shows includes the participation of Jenna and Henry’s children, who have visited the TODAY set before. Mila has expressed interest in following her mother’s footsteps while Poppy and Hal are involved in the lively family dynamic the Hager sisters have cultivated over the years.

Jenna’s personal anecdote about her daughter Mila humorously showcases the unpredictability of family life. “You know who really wants to do it? Mila Hager,” she said. “At one point, she shared a secret on camera that was meant to stay at home, which earned her a lifetime ban from co-hosting — for now.”

In closing remarks about co-parenting and partnership, Jenna emphasized the importance of support in a healthy relationship. “Part of [a healthy relationship] is choosing the right person because they make you feel — they’re supportive,” she noted, further solidifying the bond they share as they embark on this new journey together on the TODAY show.
