Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman in Talks for New Movie ‘The Gallerist’ Directed by Cathy Yan
Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman are reportedly in early talks to star in a new movie titled ‘The Gallerist,’ directed by Cathy Yan, known for her work on ‘Birds of Prey‘ and an episode of ‘Succession‘.
The film, which follows a desperate gallerist who conspires to sell a dead man at Art Basel Miami, is set to be written by Cathy Yan and newcomer James Pedersen. Natalie Portman is also expected to produce the movie alongside other notable producers, some of whom worked on the 2021 film ‘Stillwater‘.
This project marks another significant collaboration for Jenna Ortega, who is fresh from the success of the ‘Beetlejuice‘ sequel and is currently filming the second season of Netflix‘s ‘Wednesday‘ in Ireland. The second season of ‘Wednesday’ is anticipated to premiere in 2025.
Natalie Portman, who recently starred in the critically acclaimed film ‘May December‘ and led Apple TV+’s ‘Lady Of The Lake,’ will also be involved in other upcoming projects, including the Guy Ritchie film ‘Fountain Of Youth‘ and a voice role in ‘The Twits‘.
The unique premise of ‘The Gallerist’ has generated significant interest, with speculation that the film could delve into themes of commodifying art or satirize the lengths people go to for artistic success).
