Jenna Ortega Directing Movie

Los Angeles, CAJenna Ortega, known for her role in the Netflix series ‘Wednesday‘, revealed her ambitions to step behind the camera and direct a film she has been developing over the past ten years. During an interview, Ortega shared insights about her growing desire to tell her own stories through filmmaking.

Ortega spoke with The Weeknd about her aspirations while promoting his new project. She stated, “I have a script that I’ve known that I was going to make for almost 10 years. It’s weird because it’s something that I thought of when I was younger and when I first started out in this field, and it’s only now that I’m actually starting to take the steps to get it made.”

The ‘Scream‘ actress also emphasized how her experiences working as a producer have shaped her understanding of the film industry. “Learning how to produce and being a part of projects in that way has informed me so much. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes that I wasn’t aware of,” she said.

While Ortega has not directed a film yet, she has taken on producing roles in productions like ‘Death of a Unicorn‘ and the forthcoming season of ‘Wednesday’. She expressed her intention to focus on directing, stressing that while she sees her character in the script, her main goal is to helm the project. “That’s probably the main thing that I want to do. I see that for myself,” Ortega added.

In discussing her future projects, she mentioned that she does not want to act in everything she produces, explaining, “I don’t want to be in the things that I create in the future. I may as well use that as a stepping stone.”

Ortega’s comments reflect a growing commitment to exploring directing as a new avenue within her creative career, showing her readiness to innovate beyond acting.
