Jennifer Garner Shares Family Recipe in Latest Cooking Show Episode

Nantucket, MA – In the latest episode of her Instagram series, “Pretend Cooking Show,” Jennifer Garner shared a cherished family recipe for chicken enchiladas, giving fans a glimpse into her childhood culinary experiences.
The episode, posted on October 6, featured Garner cooking alongside her mother, Patricia, who visited her daughter in Nantucket. The pair followed Patricia’s well-worn recipe, revealing the family’s cooking traditions.
Patricia, now 87, described the enchiladas as mild, adding, ‘If you want more heat, add it.’ Garner, 53, took a hands-on approach, offering to chop vegetables but humorously stepped aside when it came to preparing the filling.
Patricia explained her generous use of butter in the filling made from shredded chicken, celery, and onion. She went off-script, urging her daughter to add more canned green chilis to the sauce, which also included cream of chicken soup and sour cream. ‘We’re wasting so many,’ she said, as she slyly added extra chilis despite Garner’s evident reluctance. Garner looked at the camera with a pleading expression, admitting, ‘I do not like canned green chilis.’
The kitchen banter continued as Patricia guided her daughter through layering the ingredients, with Garner playfully doubting her mother’s instructions. ‘The recipe, in this case, happens to agree with my mom,’ she said, as Patricia reinforced her authority as the long-time chef of the dish.
With a light-hearted attitude, Garner placed the casserole in the oven, jovially stating, ‘Do good,’ before inviting viewers to consider cheese inside the enchiladas for those who enjoy a cheesy pull. However, Patricia firmly responded, ‘No.’
The entertaining dynamic between mother and daughter offered viewers both cooking tips and a heartwarming look at their family bond.
