Jennifer Lopez Reflects on Parenting After Divorce from Ben Affleck

LOS ANGELES, CA – In a recent interview, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez opened up about her experience navigating parenthood following her divorce from Ben Affleck. Lopez, 55, who shares 17-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, discussed the importance of being honest with her children during challenging times.

“I promised them that I’d come out the other side stronger and better,” Lopez said, expressing her pride in how she and her children have grown through their struggles. She mentioned incorporating self-reflection practices, like reading and meditation, to improve her relationship with God and strengthen her family unit.

Lopez reflected on her difficult year, which included her split from Affleck in January 2024 after nearly two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. “I’m proud of myself for being able to navigate my children through difficult times,” she said. “They’re stronger and better because of it.”

Lopez also addressed the guilt that working mothers often feel, acknowledging the balancing act between her career and spending time with her children. She stated, “You always do your best as a mom.”

On her artistic journey, Lopez mentioned that her recent music reflects her growth and lessons learned from her experiences. “I have a few songs that I’ve been working on… and those will be very indicative of what I’m feeling now,” she shared, hinting at new material inspired by her journey.

Affleck, 52, has also spoken fondly of Lopez, noting their positive relationship remains intact. At the premiere of his movie ‘The Accountant 2,’ he praised Lopez, saying, “Jennifer Lopez is spectacular… I love her kids. They’re wonderful.”
