Jensen Ackles’ New Series ‘Countdown’ Set for June 25 Premiere

LOS ANGELES, CA — Amazon Prime Video has announced that the new action series “Countdown,” starring Jensen Ackles, will premiere on June 25, 2025. The series will launch with three episodes, followed by weekly releases leading to the season finale on September 3.
Created by Derek Haas, who is known for his work on the “One Chicago” and “FBI” franchises, the series features Ackles as LAPD detective Mark Meachum. According to the official synopsis, when an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, Meachum is recruited to a secret task force. The team, consisting of undercover agents from various law enforcement branches, works to investigate the crime, which soon reveals a more sinister plot threatening the city.
Ackles, who previously gained fame for his role in “Supernatural” and as Soldier Boy in “The Boys,” is joined by a talented cast including Eric Dane, known for his portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan in “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Jessica Camacho, who appeared in “Watchmen.” Other cast members include Violett Beane, Elliot Knight, and Uli Latukefu.
“Countdown” is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, with Haas serving as executive producer. The studio also has a first-look deal with Ackles and his wife, Daneel Ackles, through their production company, Chaos Machine.
The first images from the series have already been released, showcasing Ackles and Dane in dramatic action poses, raising anticipation among fans.
