Jeremy Renner Memoir Death Experience

LOS ANGELES, CA — Jeremy Renner shared a life-altering moment from his near-fatal snow plow accident in 2023 in his new memoir, “My Next Breath,” revealing he believes he briefly experienced death during the incident.

In a recent interview with Kelly Ripa on her podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” Renner described his experience as “a great relief.” He expressed that being detached from his body felt exhilarating and peaceful.

“It’s the most exhilarating peace you could ever feel,” said Renner. “You don’t see anything but what’s in your mind’s eye. Like, you’re the atoms of who you are, the DNA, your spirit. It’s magnificent. It’s so magical.”

On January 1, 2023, Renner was run over by his own 14,000-pound Sno-Cat while attempting to rescue his nephew. He stated that he died for about 30 minutes while lying in the snow, waiting for help to arrive in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Renner recounted the painful injuries he sustained, including eight broken ribs, a broken right knee, and multiple fractures in his legs and shoulder. He recalled, “I came back and saw [my] eyeball and I’m like, ‘Oh shit, I’m back.’”

Despite the traumatic experience, Renner referred to his revival as a “glory moment,” emphasizing the importance of family. He noted, “I didn’t f***ing die. So, the celebration of New Year becomes a recognition of the depth of the love in our family.”

After nearly one year in recovery, Renner has resumed his acting career, appearing in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” and filming for Rian Johnson’s upcoming movie, “Wake Up Dead Man,” set for release this fall.
