Jessica Jones Returns for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again

New York, NY — Krysten Ritter is officially back as the hard-fighting, hard-drinking hero, Jessica Jones. The announcement was made during Disney‘s Upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday. Ritter joined Charlie Cox, who stars as Daredevil, to confirm her appearance in the second season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

‘It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders,’ and now joining the MCU,’ Ritter told the audience. ‘I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!’

Ritter originally portrayed the character in the Netflix series ‘Jessica Jones,’ which debuted in 2015. The show aired for three seasons, concluding in 2019, and was part of a line-up that included other Marvel series like ‘Daredevil,’ ‘Luke Cage,’ and ‘The Punisher.’ In 2019, Disney began to integrate Marvel characters into its streaming service, Disney+, after the conclusion of its Netflix contract.

In her original series, Jessica Jones is depicted as a private investigator with super strength and flight abilities. Recognized for her nuanced portrayal, Ritter’s work on the show earned her acclaim from fans and critics alike.

Previously, due to the Netflix-Marvel deal, characters from those shows could not appear in other series or films for two years following cancellation. Disney has been gradually reintroducing these characters, highlighted by the return of Charlie Cox in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ which premiered in March 2025. Vincent D'Onofrio also stars as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the series.

Cox commented on Ritter’s return: ‘Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again was an incredible experience, and the response has been overwhelming. This second season is heading in a bold new direction.’

As anticipation builds around Jessica Jones’ upcoming role, details about how significant her involvement will be remain unclear. However, fans are eagerly awaiting her return in a project expected to debut in March 2026.
