Jessica Simpson Celebrates 7 Years of Sobriety and Other Recent Updates from PEOPLE Magazine
Jessica Simpson is marking a significant milestone in her personal journey, celebrating seven years of being alcohol-free. The 44-year-old musician and mom of three shared her accomplishment on Instagram with a touching post on November 1, 2024. Simpson wrote, “7yrs ago today I walked myself into the light of being alcohol free 🤍,” accompanied by a black-and-white image of herself looking out of a plane window. Her post garnered support from fans and celebrity friends, including John Stamos, who commented, “Bravo 👏.”
Simpson has been open about her health journey, previously marking six years of sobriety with an Instagram post that detailed her reasons for quitting alcohol. She reflected on how alcohol had kept her “mind and heart circling in the same direction” and expressed her desire to “feel the pain” and live with clarity and self-respect. In August, she also addressed rumors about her sobriety, reaffirming that she has not touched alcohol since October 2017 and that it has been the best decision for herself and her family.
In addition to her personal achievements, Simpson has announced a new documentary project with Gunpowder & Sky, set to be a raw and personal look at her life. The documentary, for which a release date has not been announced, is part of her ongoing efforts to share her story and connect with her audience on a deeper level.
