Jets Coach Aaron Glenn Faces Pressure Amid 0-6 Start

NEW YORK, NY — Aaron Glenn, the head coach of the New York Jets, has made history for all the wrong reasons. He is the first coach in Jets history to start his tenure with six consecutive losses after his team fell to 0-6 this season, mirroring a similar predicament faced by Dan Campbell with the Detroit Lions in 2021.
After a heartbreaking 19-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on October 15, 2025, Glenn is feeling the heat. The Jets have struggled in various facets of the game, reminiscent of the rebuilding phase the Lions underwent under Campbell. Players are frustrated and questions swirl around Glenn’s future with the team.
“When you see your players give all that they have and you lose that way, it’s tough,” Campbell said when reflecting on his own early struggles and the support he received from Glenn as his defensive coordinator. He emphasized that consistency in core values helped them eventually turn things around.
In contrast, Glenn is currently under intense scrutiny as the Jets continue to struggle, having lost games in dramatic fashion. Frustrated fan reactions have resulted in calls for Glenn’s dismissal, while his name has appeared on lists predicting the next coach to be fired.
Despite this turmoil, Glenn remains steadfast in his approach, insisting he sees a path to success. “You have to go through these times and figure out how to win games,” he said on October 17. He attributes his resolve to his experience in Detroit, where he previously endured a challenging season.
Team owner Woody Johnson has reportedly been supportive, allowing Glenn the time to build the team according to his vision. Johnson is also financially committed to Glenn, whose contract is among the highest for a Jets coach, making it unlikely for the team to cut ties prematurely.
However, concerns linger. The Jets rank poorly in offensive and defensive metrics and are struggling to maintain composure during crucial game moments. Recently, quarterback Zach Wilson expressed confusion over play-calling and criticized the team’s overall morale.
Every week, the Jets face rising expectations yet dismal performance. Glenn recognizes that maintaining control and pressure in close contests will be crucial moving forward. Still, how long patience lasts among fans and the organization remains uncertain.
As the Jets prepare for their next challenge against the Carolina Panthers, Glenn’s ability to turn the team around will be tested. Expectations are high, and performance is key as the season progresses.
