The Winnipeg Jets‘ 2021 1st round pick, Chaz Lucius, recently sat down with Cam Poitras and Jim Toth to discuss his ongoing offseason recovery process.

Lucius, a talented Minnesotan forward, faced a challenging rookie season with the Jets due to a season-ending ankle injury that limited him to just 17 games.

During the interview, Lucius shared insights into his rehabilitation journey, including his passion for pickleball, progress on his ankle injury, and his anticipated readiness for the upcoming training camp.

Although Lucius is not currently skating, he expressed plans to hit the ice next week as he aims for a full recovery prior to the start of the Jets’ training camp in September.

Reflecting on his rookie season setbacks, Lucius emphasized how the adversity has helped him grow both mentally and physically, shaping his outlook for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, Lucius highlighted his desire for a successful campaign and discussed the areas where he hopes to make significant contributions to the team.

Despite the challenges he faced in his inaugural pro season, Lucius remains determined to overcome obstacles and further develop his skills as he transitions from collegiate to professional hockey.

As he continues to focus on his recovery and training regimen, Lucius acknowledged the support and guidance he has received from the Jets organization, highlighting their collective efforts to help him prepare for the upcoming season.
