Jimmy Barnes Announces ‘Hell of a Time’ Tour Following Open Heart Surgery
Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes has revealed his much-anticipated return to touring after successfully undergoing open heart surgery at the end of last year.
In November, Barnes was hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia, leading to further complications that required urgent cardiac surgery in December, where his aortic valve was replaced.
Now on the path to recovery, the musician is gearing up for a triumphant comeback, starting with a special performance at the renowned Bluesfest Byron Bay over the Easter Long Weekend.
At Bluesfest, Barnes will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his iconic album ‘Flesh and Wood‘ with a unique show featuring electric and acoustic renditions, along with duets and special guest appearances.
‘Flesh and Wood’, Barnes’ seventh solo album, saw massive success and featured collaborations with music greats like Joe Cocker and Archie Roach.
Following his appearance at Bluesfest, Barnes will headline the rescheduled shows of the Red Hot Summer Tour, bringing together a stellar lineup of Australian artists at various venues including Roche Estate and Bendigo Racecourse.
But Barnes isn’t stopping there; he has also announced the ‘Hell of a Time’ tour – a series of intimate, regional theater performances scheduled from June to August.
This tour aims to provide fans with a personal and up-close look at Barnes’ musical journey through stories and acoustic renditions of his most beloved songs, promising a unique and unforgettable experience.
Accompanying the tour announcement is the release of a limited edition sand-colored vinyl reissue of ‘Flesh and Wood’, marking the album’s 30th anniversary and personally signed by Barnes himself.
