Joann Fabrics Store Clearance Sale

New Albany, OhioJOANN Fabrics, a well-known fabric and craft retailer, has officially announced that it will be winding down operations following recent ownership changes and financial challenges. The announcement came on the heels of a bankruptcy auction that resulted in the GA Group being appointed as the winning bidder to acquire the company’s assets.

As part of this transition, JOANN will begin going-out-of-business sales at all locations across the country, with immediate effect. According to a company statement, these sales will allow customers to purchase items at reduced prices as the closure process unfolds.

“Following a comprehensive sale process and auction, we have made the difficult decision to wind down our business,” stated the company. “Our priority is to provide our customers with the best possible experience during this transition.”

In an effort to keep customers informed, JOANN has indicated that updates regarding store closure timelines and online operations will be communicated through the company’s website and mobile app. “Any dates for store closures or changes to the website and app will be communicated as soon as possible, and we expect it will take a number of weeks to complete our final sales,” the company noted.

For those with JOANN gift cards, the retailer will continue to accept these until February 28, offering a last opportunity for customers to use their remaining balances. However, the company has paused all promotional coupon activities and will no longer accept returns as it moves through the closure process.

Craft enthusiasts are encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing sales to stock up on supplies, although specific details regarding discounts were not disclosed. “This is a chance to purchase our products at special prices during our final sales,” the statement added.

Laura Millar, assistant lifestyle editor at Good Housekeeping, commented on the announcement, saying, “The closure of JOANN Fabrics marks the end of an era for many crafters who relied on the retailer for supplies and inspiration.” Millar, who previously covered home and lifestyle topics for NBC‘s TODAY.com, stressed the significance of JOANN’s community connection.

As the company embarks on its wind-down plan, many crafters are left to ponder the future of their crafting resources and where they will turn for materials moving forward.
