Jobe Watson Announces Wedding Date

Former Essendon football star Jobe Watson is gearing up for a big celebration as he has set a date for his wedding. Watson, who proposed to his partner Virginia Slaghekke in September last year, revealed that the couple is set to tie the knot in March.

Watson, who will turn 40 in February, plans to combine his birthday and his bucks party into one grand event in Queenstown. He shared this exciting news during a recent appearance on the podcast ‘Swanny And Friends’.

The couple, who are proud parents to three kids—Juniper, Wolf, and Lilou—first crossed paths back in 2016 at a café. Slaghekke, a model, made the move to Australia to be with Watson, 39, and they have since built a wonderful life together.

Watson is not just known for his football career as captain of the Essendon Football Club; he has also made headlines in the past for being involved in a controversial doping scandal.

After taking a break and relocating to New York during that tough time, he worked as a barista and met Virginia. They eventually returned to Australia, where Watson continued his career in AFL until his retirement, and now works as a commentator for Channel Seven.

Meanwhile, Virginia has pursued her education, earning a degree in biomedical sciences and now focusing on clinical psychology. The couple is now happily living in Melbourne as they prepare for their big day.
