Jon Hamm Named 2025 Hasty Pudding Man of the Year
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Award-winning actor Jon Hamm, best known for his iconic role as Don Draper in “Mad Men,” will be honored as the 2025 Man of the Year by Harvard University‘s Hasty Pudding Theatricals. The ceremony, including a celebratory roast and a performance of the group’s 176th production, “101 Damnations,” will take place Friday night, Jan. 31, 2025.
Hasty Pudding Theatricals, founded in 1844 and recognized as the third-oldest theater group in the world, annually awards individuals who have made significant contributions to entertainment. Hamm, whose career spans television, film, and theater, joins a prestigious list of past recipients, including Barry Keoghan, Bob Odenkirk, and Jason Bateman.
“Let’s hope our roast doesn’t give him any heart palpitations — he’s had enough drama with that,” said Producer Willow Woodward, referencing the dramatic conclusion of Hamm’s character in the Paramount+ series “Landman.” “But with his work ethic, we’re confident he’ll take on our stage with as much grit as Texas oil fields. He’s the perfect man to strike gold and earn his Pudding Pot this January.”
Hamm’s accolades include Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his portrayal of Sheriff Roy Tillman in FX‘s “Fargo.” He has also starred in films such as “Bad Times at the El Royale” and hosted “Saturday Night Live” three times.
In addition to Hamm’s honor, “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo has been named the 2025 Woman of the Year by Hasty Pudding Theatricals. She will receive her award on Feb. 6, 2025.
