Jordan Clarkson Shines as Knicks Make History with Recent Win
NEW YORK (AP) — Jordan Clarkson has found his rhythm with the New York Knicks, making a historic impact during their recent 133-120 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. This win not only improved the Knicks’ home record to 7-0 but also lifted Clarkson into the top 10 of all-time bench scorers in NBA history, with 8,137 points.
Clarkson, who signed a one-year deal with the Knicks this offseason, has significantly boosted their bench production. After a slow start, he has reached double figures in four of his last five games, averaging 12.0 points per game in November. The Knicks, now on a five-game winning streak, are 7-3 for the season and aiming for a strong playoff run.
“We’re just building on our chemistry,” Clarkson said after the game. “It feels great to contribute and help the team win.” His 13 points against Memphis included 10 in a crucial second quarter that saw the Knicks extend their lead to 23 points at halftime.
Head coach Mike Brown highlighted Clarkson’s role in the team’s success. “His experience is invaluable for us, especially coming off the bench,” Brown said. “He knows how to score and create opportunities.”
The Knicks have not only excelled at home but are also putting up impressive numbers, including averaging 130.2 points during their winning streak. In the game against Memphis, Jalen Brunson led with 32 points and 10 assists, while teammates Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 and 21 points, respectively.
Clarkson’s efficient shooting was evident as he finished 5-of-8 from the field, despite only hitting one 3-pointer. His ability to adapt and respond during critical moments has been essential to New York’s strategy this season.
The Knicks will look to extend their winning streak to six games as they face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, with anticipation building among fans for their continued success.
