Jordan Marshall Injured in Wolverines’ Game Against Northwestern
CHICAGO, Illinois – The University of Michigan may have lost running back Jordan Marshall during their matchup against Northwestern at Wrigley Field on Saturday, Nov. 15. The redshirt freshman had been performing strongly, rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.
Marshall’s injury occurred early in the fourth quarter when he took a hard hit on a 24-yard run, with the Wolverines trailing 22-21. He landed on his right shoulder and immediately showed signs of pain, rolling onto his back. After several minutes, Marshall was able to walk off the field, but he was clearly favoring his right arm.
The Wolverines were already dealing with a depleted running back roster, as star Justice Haynes is out indefinitely due to a foot injury. Following Marshall’s exit, Bryson Kuzdzal stepped in and carried the ball three times for 17 yards, but the team’s struggles continued with quarterback Bryce Underwood throwing an interception, marking U-M’s fourth turnover of the game.
As the game progressed, Kuzdzal remained on the field while Marshall stood on the sidelines without his helmet. Michigan had entered this game following a bye week with hopes of overcoming a slew of injuries impacting their lineup.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available on Marshall’s condition.
