Josh Allen Buffalo Bills Contract News

Buffalo, NY — Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has signed a landmark six-year, $330 million contract extension that is set to keep him with the team through the 2030 season. The deal, announced on September 17, 2025, includes $250 million guaranteed, making it the largest guarantee in NFL history.

This new agreement increases Allen’s average annual salary to $55 million, second only to Dak Prescott‘s $60 million average. Previously, Allen was set to earn $14.5 million in 2025, but with this extension, he will now receive $58 million.

The Bills structured the contract to reduce Allen’s cap hit for 2025 from $43.4 million to $41.3 million by including various bonuses and incentives. The deal also features an option for the team to exit after the 2029 season, providing both the player and the franchise flexibility.

General manager Brandon Beane expressed his support for Allen, saying, “I love Josh and am so proud of what he’s done.” He mentioned that Allen’s performance during the 2024 season, where he had 28 touchdown passes and only six interceptions, justified the team’s heavy investment in him.

Head coach Sean McDermott also highlighted Allen’s leadership, attributing much of the Bills’ success to him. “Josh Allen’s consistent leadership was the biggest reason why we did what we did this season,” McDermott stated.

Alongside Allen’s contract, the Bills are committed to retaining core players, as they have also signed multi-year extensions with defensive end Greg Rousseau, linebacker Terrell Bernard, and wide receiver Khalil Shakir. This investment in talent displays the Bills’ ambition not just for a successful season, but for a long-term championship future.
