Joy Behar Missing From ‘The View’ Due to Foot Injury
New York, NY — Joy Behar, a longtime cohost of ‘The View,’ is currently absent from the show due to a foot injury. Behar typically takes Mondays off but has missed broadcasts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Whoopi Goldberg, who moderates the show, informed viewers about Behar’s condition during Wednesday’s episode.
On Tuesday, Goldberg told the audience, ‘Joy is out today, hopefully she’ll be back tomorrow.’ Later, she confirmed that Behar hurt her foot in an undisclosed incident. Fans are expressing concern as Behar, 83, has been a central figure on ‘The View’ since its inception.
During the episode celebrating Goldberg’s 70th birthday, she lightheartedly mentioned the cold studio, saying, ‘I’m sitting like this because I’m cold as hell,’ while assuring fans that Behar would hopefully return soon. As the panel continued without her, cohost Sunny Hostin brought out Behar’s famous lasagna, which she had made for Goldberg’s birthday.
Despite Behar’s absence, the show continued to make headlines. The panel interviewed Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, where Hostin confronted him over his decision to side with Republicans to end the government shutdown. In a tense exchange, she challenged his choices, asserting the risks for healthcare costs in his state if negotiations went wrong.
Fetterman responded firmly, stating, ‘I don’t need a lecture from, whether it’s Bernie [Sanders] or the governor in California,’ dismissing criticism over his actions.
‘The View’ airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC. Representatives for the show have been contacted for further updates on Behar’s health.
