This matchup marks the Current’s final regular season road test before the playoffs, and they have already secured their postseason spot.

As part of the build-up to the match, the Current teams up with No Other Pub for a watch party, complete with special events and the Teal Mobile. Other venues hosting watch parties include Asados Bar & Grill and Double Tap KC.
The Current leads the all-time regular season series against the Dash, holding a 5-3-3 record. They are unbeaten in their last seven visits to Houston across all competitions; however, the last two encounters at Shell Energy Stadium ended in draws. The two teams last faced each other on April 20, with Kansas City winning 2-0 at home.
With the NWSL Shield already in their grasp, the Current aims to extend their historic season. They recently set a league record by amassing 62 points, breaking Orlando Pride’s previous record of 60 points.
Kansas City boasts a remarkable defensive record, having conceded only 11 goals this season, which puts them on track to break the league’s historical low for goals allowed in a single season. Goalkeeper Lorena leads the way with 14 clean sheets, enhancing her reputation further.
The Dash, currently at the bottom of the playoff race, must secure a win against the Current to keep their hopes alive. They are six points adrift from the playoff line and need a favorable outcome in their remaining matches to advance. The home team is aiming to build on an unbeaten streak at Shell Energy Stadium that spans four matches.
Houston recently faced a setback, losing 2-0 to Angel City FC, but they hope to turn their fortunes around against one of the league’s toughest teams. Dash forward Yazmeen Ryan, who leads her team with four goals, will be crucial in the attack.
Both teams are set to feature multiple players representing their national sides in upcoming international fixtures, demonstrating the high-profile talent on the pitch.
