Kanye West’s Chrome Mercedes Causes Traffic Jam in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Kanye West caused a traffic disruption Friday afternoon while driving his all-chrome Mercedes-Maybach through Los Angeles. The 47-year-old rapper, accompanied by bodyguards, was spotted cruising the city in the luxury vehicle before heading to the home of fellow rapper A$AP Rocky, who is currently on trial for assault charges.

Photos obtained by TMZ show West’s bodyguards blocking two lanes of Sunset Boulevard with their SUVs, preventing other drivers from passing for over a minute. The incident reportedly left nearby motorists frustrated as the entourage ensured West could drive unimpeded.

West appeared to be showing support for A$AP Rocky, who faces two felony counts of assault with a firearm for allegedly shooting his former friend A$AP Relli in 2021. Rocky has pleaded not guilty, and his partner, singer Rihanna, has been seen supporting him at the courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles.

Earlier in the day, West was spotted driving around LA with his manager, John Monopoly, and visiting a studio in West Hollywood, sparking speculation that he may be working on new music. The outing comes just days after West and his wife, Bianca Censori, returned to the U.S. following an extended trip to Tokyo.

West’s visit to Rocky’s home included a meetup with A$AP Nast, Rocky’s cousin and fellow A$AP Mob member. Nast shared photos of the two on Instagram, captioning one, ‘i guess the money should of changed him… i guess of should of forgot where i came from.’

West’s appearance marked a departure from his recent disheveled look, as he sported a clean-shaven face and a buzzed haircut. He wore a puffy white-and-gray jacket, white jeans, and black leather boots, accessorized with a diamond-encrusted eagle pendant.

The rapper’s return to Los Angeles follows weeks of international travel with Censori, during which he was not seen with his four children from his previous marriage to Kim Kardashian. It remains unclear whether his children joined him during his time abroad.
