Kat Timpf Responds to Pregnancy Trolls Amid Emotional Journey

NEW YORK, NY — Fox News personality Kat Timpf has spoken out about the harsh comments she has received during her pregnancy, revealing her surprise at the intensity of online backlash since announcing her pregnancy last July.
Timpf, 36, a co-host on the late-night show ‘Gutfeld!’ and a political analyst, acknowledged that she is used to online trolling but did not anticipate the increased negativity surrounding her decision to start a family with her husband, Cameron Friscia.
“You know what’s crazy? I really thought that being pregnant would make people be nicer to me, but people are meaner to me now,” Timpf said in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun in October.
The criticism intensified after Timpf showcased her visible baby bump in a podcast video. Although posting this content took considerable courage because of a scar from her previous ileostomy surgery, she felt it was essential to embrace her body. “That’s more important to me than people who are going to be horrified,” she stated.
Her crop top video, which went viral, sparked negative comments as if the video was controversial in nature. Timpf joked about it saying, “It was as if the video was of me pillaging and burning down a village.”
To one troll, she fired back, asking, “Why is it important for you to leave this comment?” In her response, she expressed pride in her ostomy scar and her outfit choice. Timpf added, “I’m proud of myself for being more comfortable with my ostomy scar and I happen to love this outfit!”
While Timpf often engages with critics, she noted that many trolls back down when she confronts them. “It’s more so the state of the world,” she reflected, attributing some of the negativity to America’s divisive political climate. This topic is also a central theme in her recent book, *I Used to Like You Until…: (How Binary Thinking Divides Us).*
“I get a lot of people telling me to stop talking about it and they’re sick of hearing about it. I’m like, ‘I’m so sorry that my pregnancy has been hard for you,’” she remarked.
Criticism regarding her pregnancy has been relentless, with Timpf humorously noting, “Now if I need to get engagement up on my video I just need to wear a crop top and I’ll have people calling me horrible and disgusting.”
Despite the backlash, Timpf has remained focused on her work at Fox News, continuing a press tour for her book while nearing her due date. She expressed determination not to take a break from her career due to her pregnancy, stating, “I went on television with an ileostomy so I can do shows pregnant.”
As her due date approached, Timpf acknowledged her fears about motherhood, saying, “I’m so terrified because I feel like you’ll never know what kind of kid you’re going to have.” However, she emphasized the importance of teaching her child “how to think and not what to think.”
Reflecting on the emotional complexity of becoming a mom, Timpf shared that her journey is tinged with memories of her own mother, who passed away on Election Day ten years prior. “It’s just so overwhelming for me to prepare to become a mom when I don’t even remember what it’s like to have a mom myself, sadly,” she admitted.
Despite the challenges and criticism, Timpf expressed excitement about the future. “This is so cheesy and so hack, but I’m so excited to do this with my husband,” she said. “I know that’s kind of sappy and it’s kind of weird to even hear myself talk like that, but that’s what I’m really excited about.”
Timpf and Friscia, a military veteran, have been married since 2021 and she has previously mentioned uncertainties about marriage and family before meeting him. “I’ve been let down by so many things in my life: people and pursuits and I’m never gonna regret giving love to this child,” Timpf stated.
As the couple awaits the arrival of their child, Timpf shared this anticipation on social media, humorously addressing her overdue status while emphasizing, “I can’t wait to meet my kid.”
