Kate Hudson’s Netflix Comedy ‘Running Point’ Premieres February 27
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Kate Hudson stars in the upcoming Netflix comedy series “Running Point,” set to premiere on February 27, 2025. The show, executive produced by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, marks Hudson’s first major TV project as a solo lead.
The series follows Isla Gordon (Hudson), who steps into the role of president of the Los Angeles Waves, a storied professional basketball franchise, after her brother resigns amid a scandal. Isla, often overlooked and underestimated, must prove her worth to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the sports community.
The ensemble cast includes Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman, Chet Hanks, Jay Ellis, and Max Greenfield. The series is produced by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television, with a 10-episode first season.
“Running Point” blends family drama with workplace comedy, exploring themes of ambition, legacy, and gender dynamics in the male-dominated world of professional sports. The show is expected to appeal to fans of both sports narratives and character-driven comedies.
Netflix has been expanding its slate of original comedies, and “Running Point” joins a growing list of high-profile projects featuring A-list talent. The series is one of several collaborations between Netflix and Mindy Kaling, who has become a key player in the streaming platform’s comedy lineup.
