Kathy Bates As Madeline Matlock Cbs Holiday Programming

Kathy Bates‘ new legal drama, Matlock, has been pulled from its usual Thursday night slot on CBS for the next two weeks, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the return of new episodes. The show, which has quickly become a fan favorite since its debut earlier this fall, will not air new episodes on November 21 and 28 due to the network’s holiday and Thanksgiving programming schedule.

On November 21, instead of a new episode of Matlock, CBS is airing a two-hour holiday special titled Nugget is Dead? A Christmas Story. This movie follows the story of a woman who cancels her Christmas plans to care for her sick dog. The night will conclude with reruns of CBS comedies Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage and Ghosts.

The following week, on November 28, there will be no new episode of Matlock either, as it is Thanksgiving. Networks typically do not air new episodes of shows on Thanksgiving due to lower viewership as people spend time with family and watch traditional Thanksgiving programming.

Fans of the show will have to wait until Thursday, December 5, 2024, for the next new episode of Matlock, titled “Belly of the Beast,” which is Season 1, Episode 7. This hiatus comes as the show has already been renewed for a second season, indicating its strong reception and popularity.

Kathy Bates stars as Madeline Matlock, a lawyer with a mysterious past, and her character has become an integral part of the law firm in the series. The show’s unique twist on the original Matlock series with Andy Griffith has been well-received, and fans are eager to see the next developments in the story.
