John Wick Documentary Trailer May 2025

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Keanu Reeves stars in the upcoming documentary “Wick is Pain,” which chronicles the struggles behind the John Wick franchise. The film will be available on digital platforms starting May 9, 2025.

The documentary, directed by Jeffrey Doe, features never-before-seen footage shot over a decade. It includes interviews with Reeves, director Chad Stahelski, and various cast and crew members who contributed to the four John Wick films. The trailer reveals insights into the making of the initial movie, released in 2014.

“We were panicked. This is Keanu fuckin’ Reeves. You do not wanna let him down,” Stahelski recalls about the production troubles faced during the first film, which was initially halted due to financial difficulties. Producer David Leitch expressed the urgency of their situation: “I don’t know how you find six and a half million dollars by Monday.”

Producer Basil Iwanyk also shared his concerns, stating, “I took money out of my house. We are doomed. We are completely fucked.” Despite these challenges, the John Wick franchise has blossomed into a billion-dollar global phenomenon, resulting in three successful sequels.

The documentary highlights the evolution of the John Wick series from an independent film that faced numerous hurdles to becoming a transformative force in the action genre. Fans eagerly await “Wick is Pain” for a look at the creative journey behind this beloved series.
