Keanu Reeves Sandra Bullock Speed Reunion

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of their most iconic films, ‘Speed,’ on Tuesday. The event took place at the Beyond Fest held at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles. The stars were joined by the film’s director, Jan de Bont, for a special screening and discussion about their experiences on set.

The 1994 blockbuster ‘Speed’ features Reeves as Officer Jack Traven and Bullock as Annie Porter, characters who find themselves on a city bus that will explode if it slows below a certain speed. During the event, Reeves humorously recounted the technical aspects of filming, noting the large number of cameras used to capture the action sequences. “I counted 22 cameras once in the front,” Reeves stated. “In front of us, there would be like 22 cameras. One camera for Sandra’s hand, one for when I turned.”

The screening also covered some personal anecdotes from the cast. Bullock shared memories of the intensive filming process, quipping about the importance of having her character drive the bus in the movie’s dramatic scenes. “You needed a woman behind the wheel to make it successful,” she joked.

The success of ‘Speed’ led to a sequel, although Reeves and Bullock did not reprise their roles together. The duo hinted at the possibility of working together again, expressing openness to the idea of appearing in a potential ‘Speed 3.’ “I mean, you know—we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park,” said Reeves with enthusiasm.
