Kid Rock Nashville Restaurant Opening

Detroit, MI — Five years after closing his Detroit eatery, musician Kid Rock is expanding his restaurant venture with a new establishment called the Detroit Cowboy in Nashville. The fine-dining restaurant will serve steaks and seafood and is set to open on May 5 in downtown Nashville.

The Detroit Cowboy marks a partnership between Kid Rock and Joe Muer Seafood, which was acquired in 2011 by Joe Vicari Restaurant Group. This new venture will take over the site of Joe Muer’s Nashville location, which originally opened in 2017.

The restaurant’s motto, “Go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated,” echoes a sentiment Kid Rock expressed in December 2019. This statement came shortly after Ilitch Holdings ended its licensing deal for his Made in Detroit restaurant at Little Caesars Arena, which faced protests led by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network following Rock’s controversial remarks during a performance.

In a message shared on Tuesday, Kid Rock addressed the situation from 2019, saying, “A small group of very bad people thought they cancelled me and my restaurant in Detroit in 2020. All you dumb****s did was hurt the city I LOVE.” This comment highlights his continuing commitment to his hometown.

Notably, the Detroit Cowboy will be Kid Rock’s second restaurant in Nashville. He opened a music-themed venue called Big Ass Honky Tonk & Steakhouse in 2018, demonstrating his investment in the Nashville dining scene.
