Kim Kardashian Reflects on Khloé’s Selfless Act During Divorce

LOS ANGELES, CA — Kim Kardashian shared a heartfelt memory of her sister Khloé Kardashian on the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” which aired Thursday, March 6. The segment focused on Khloé’s selfless gesture that helped Kim during a difficult time following her first divorce.
In the episode, Kim, 44, reminisced about how, at just 21 years old and facing financial struggles after her divorce from music producer Damon Thomas, she turned to her sister for help. “When Khloé was maybe 4 or 5 years old, she got this piggy bank in the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle. We would put so much money in it,” Kim recalled.
Kim revealed that upon her divorce, she had no funds to support herself, stating, “I moved out and had no money. I was like 21 and she gave me her Coke bottle.” The two sisters spent the night counting the cash inside, which totaled about $6,000, enough for Kim to secure a down payment on her new apartment.
Khloé, 40, recounted her reaction during that emotional moment. “She was crying in my room, and I was just like, ‘OK, I have this Coke bottle. Let’s take what’s in here, let’s go to the bank and cash it, and let’s use this money for your divorce,’” she said. “I gave her all that I got and hopefully helped her,” Khloé added.
Kim’s marriage to Thomas lasted from 2000 until their divorce in 2004. After this union, Kim was briefly married to basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011, a marriage that famously lasted just 72 days. She later wed rapper Kanye West in 2014, and they share four children: North, 11; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 5. Kim filed for divorce from West in February 2021.
In gratitude for Khloé’s early support, Kim later gifted her sister a Coke bottle piggy bank filled with $100 bills for Khloé’s 40th birthday. “I was like, ‘Thank you. She gave me her life savings at 21 years old.’ She couldn’t believe I remembered the Coke bottle, and I was like, ‘How could I not?!'” Kim shared.
New episodes of “The Kardashians” are available for streaming on Hulu every Thursday, offering a glimpse into the lives and relationships of the Kardashian sisters.
