Kimora Lee Simmons Passes Fashion Legacy to Daughter Ming Lee Simmons

Los Angeles, CA – Supermodel and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons has announced her plan to pass her extensive couture collection to her eldest daughter, Ming Lee Simmons. During a recent photoshoot, the mother-daughter duo opened up about their fashion influences and personal styles.

In the latest issue of PEOPLE, Kimora, 50, expressed her pride in her daughter’s style choices. “Ming has my whole face,” she laughed, noting their physical similarities and shared aesthetic. However, Ming, 25, who graduated from New York University, had a different view on their fashion sensibilities. “My mom dresses very street-style; she’ll wear hoodies, sneakers. I wear loafers and low-rise jeans,” she explained.

The pair reminisced about a beloved vintage Dolce & Gabbana leopard-print pencil dress that Kimora first wore for her 30th birthday in 2005. Ming said, “I was actually going to wear this for my 25th-birthday dress, but I didn’t end up doing anything.” For Kimora, seeing Ming in the dress was an emotional experience. “She looks stunning. I don’t think I looked that good in it,” she said.

Kimora also shared her plans to pass down much more than just clothing. “Everything! All my bags, I have a great collection of bags. I have great luggage. Even if it’s not pieces that you would wear today, it’s too bling bling for you — but I have great stuff!” she stated.

Despite their differences in fashion preferences, both Kimora and Ming agree on the importance of feeling beautiful and empowered. Kimora defined beauty as “fiercely independent” and emphasized the significance of self-care. Ming echoed this sentiment, stating she feels most beautiful when she takes care of herself.

The conversation also touched on their roles as women navigating the world. Kimora reflected on Ming’s social life and independence, admitting, “I never really got to live that fun and do all those things.” Ming added, “When it’s just me and my friends, that feels really good, that we didn’t need anyone else and we’re just together.”
