King of the Hill Cast to Reunite for Special ATX Festival Event

AUSTIN, Texas – The cast and creators of the beloved animated series King of the Hill are set to reunite on May 30 at 7 p.m. during the ATX TV Festival. This event coincides with the show’s revival, premiering on Hulu this summer, and will feature a panel discussion among key cast members and insights from the creators.
The reunion promises an engaging evening filled with anecdotes from behind-the-scenes, favorite moments from the making of the show, and a sneak peek of the upcoming revival season. Panelists include co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson, and voice cast members Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.
This nostalgic celebration is also described as a Texas-style backyard barbecue event, allowing attendees to enjoy food and drink inspired by the show, interactive photo opportunities, and a lively atmosphere reminiscent of the Hill family’s backyard in fictional Arlen, Texas.
King of the Hill originally aired on Fox from 1997 until 2010, and it has garnered a loyal fanbase over the years. The narrative follows plain-spoken propane salesman Hank Hill, his substitute teacher wife Peggy, and their eccentric son Bobby as they navigate life in a changing cultural landscape. The show is celebrated for tackling social and cultural issues with humor and wit.
“It feels really special to come back and revisit these characters,” Adlon said earlier this year at a promotional event. “We have a new generation of young writers who have managed to find the sweet spot between what made the original great and what the new audience will appreciate.”
The ATX TV Festival runs from May 29 to June 1, featuring various panels, conversations, and special events. Other notable programming includes discussions with comedian Seth Meyers, a reunion of The Leftovers, and retrospectives for popular series like Mad Men and UNReal.
Tickets for the King of the Hill reunion panel and barbecue are available to Camp Badgeholders and invited guests, allowing fans an exclusive opportunity to engage with the show’s creators and cast. As the festival approaches, excitement builds among fans eager to celebrate the legacy of King of the Hill and see how it will evolve in its revival.
