Kingdom Hearts Missing Link Game Announcement

Tokyo, JapanSquare Enix has canceled the development of its much-anticipated mobile game, Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link. The announcement came on [insert date], alongside an apology to fans eager for the project.

The development team stated, “We worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players. However, we determined that it would be difficult to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time.”

Originally planned for release in late 2024, Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link was meant to feature GPS-based gameplay for iOS and Android devices. The cancellation follows a closed beta test conducted in January 2023 but later delayed to November 2024.

Despite this setback, Square Enix emphasized that the Kingdom Hearts series will continue, with Kingdom Hearts IV in development. They are encouraging fans to stay tuned for future updates.

Additional leaks from a reliable YouTuber suggest that the unreleased game could have included over 20 Disney-themed worlds, although the exact nature of these worlds remains unclear. The GamersJoint, who has previous credibility within the Kingdom Hearts community, also noted that this extensive lineup could have offered “possibly one of the best world lineups in a Kingdom Hearts game.”

Despite the cancellation, excitement remains for the franchise. Observers hope that new information regarding Kingdom Hearts IV will soon be revealed as fans continue to await solid updates on both titles.
