Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies Trailer Reveals a Comedy of Errors
Kiran Rao, the renowned filmmaker and ex-wife of actor Aamir Khan, has unveiled the trailer for her upcoming comedy film, Laapataa Ladies. The film, produced by Aamir Khan’s production house, features a talented ensemble cast including Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. Laapataa Ladies presents an unfamiliar story, filled with unexpected twists and turns.
The trailer introduces us to Deepak Kumar, played by Sparsh Shrivastava, who accidentally brings home the wrong bride after his wedding. As the groom’s family eagerly awaits the unveiling of the bride, they are shocked to discover that it is not his real wife. Simultaneously, another man has reported his wife missing, leading to confusion and chaos.
The trailer showcases the hilarious journey of Deepak as he tries to find his lost bride, while also revealing the suspicious motives of the bride who replaced her. Deepak files a complaint at the local police station, leading to a sarcastic police officer played by Ravi Kishan. As the search unfolds, it becomes evident that there’s more to this bride swap than meets the eye.
Laapataa Ladies, which had its premiere at the acclaimed Toronto International Film Festival, has received positive reviews from audiences, critics, and industry professionals. The film is set to release on March 1st and promises to entertain with its unique narrative and stellar performances.
Jio Studios is presenting the film in collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions. Laapataa Ladies is co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande. The screenplay and dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, with additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma. The film is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.
