Ritter will portray a character named Mia, but details about her role remain undisclosed.
Production for the highly anticipated sequel series commenced in January 2025 in New York, with plans to debut on Paramount+ With Showtime this summer. Michael C. Hall will reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan. The cast also includes Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, and Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan. Other notable roles are held by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is a continuation of the acclaimed show that originally aired from 2006 to 2013. It is essential to note that this series is distinct from the prequel “Dexter: Original Sin,” which debuted last year and follows a younger version of Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson). This prequel became Showtime’s most streamed original series in a decade, attracting 2.68 million global viewers for its finale in February.
The creative team behind “Dexter: Resurrection” includes Clyde Phillips, the original show’s showrunner, returning as executive producer, along with Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Marcos Siega takes on the role of producing director, while Monica Raymund will direct four episodes, with Siega directing six.
In her career, Ritter has showcased her versatility, with roles in “Breaking Bad,” “Sonic 3,” and “Orphan Black: Echoes.” Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris was recently announced as part of the cast in another guest role, further heightening interest in the series.
As the series continues to evolve, fans anticipate how “Dexter: Resurrection” will expand on the beloved franchise, which remains a staple of crime drama on television.
