Kyle Richards Mauricio Umansky Kissing Woman Greece

LOS ANGELES, CA — Kyle Richards opened up about her daughters’ reactions to photos of her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky kissing another woman in Greece during Season 14, Episode 13 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (RHOBH) on Feb. 25, 2025.

During the episode, Richards reflected on the emotional impact the photos had on her family. She stated, “My daughters are seeing that, so it’s not just me. I know that’s weird for them. They’ve only seen their mother and father together. That’s strange for them. That doesn’t feel good to them.” She added, “Of course they were upset by seeing that picture. Of course they were. Sometimes they get more upset, even, than I do.”

Richards emphasized that the incident provided a catalyst for necessary conversations about their family’s future, saying, “It’s another reminder [that] we need to move forward. We need to do something and make decisions now.” She noted that despite their separation, the family remains committed to spending time together.

Richards and Umansky share four daughters: Farrah, Alexia, Sophia, and Portia. While some tabloids speculated that Richards was devastated by the photos, she clarified her emotional state during the After Show, asserting, “No, I wasn’t crying about it like some of the rumors had said I was.” She admitted, however, that seeing the images was still peculiar and unsettling.

“I’m not the first person to get divorced — people get divorced — but last week was my first time seeing those photos of someone I’ve known for so long,” she continued. “It felt like I was looking at someone else; someone I don’t know.”

When questioned about the identity of the woman in the photos, who was identified in the episode as a Russian-born actress, Richards stated she had “no idea” who she was.

Richards later opened up about the challenges she and Umansky faced in their marriage, revealing, “If you want something to work, you have to do the work. I think Mau thought, ‘I’m always nice to you.’ And that’s not doing the work; that’s being nice to me,” during her discussion in the After Show.

She elaborated on previous therapy sessions, explaining, “When it actually did crumble and we separated, we finally went to therapy… but he just decided not to do that.” Richards noted the need for direct conversations about their future, stating, “I have said to him, ‘We have to have the harder conversations now. A lot of decisions are going to have to be made.'”

In discussing their marital status further, Richards admitted both she and Umansky have been hesitant to formalize their split. “If we hated each other, it would be so easy. I think it was just hard, and neither one of us wanted to be the one to say, ‘OK. We’re not going to be together and let’s start figuring everything out.’ We’ve made it easy for each other to not have to do that by just avoiding everything,” she explained.

Reflecting on her emotional journey, Richards acknowledged the pressure to provide answers about her marital situation, stating, “I think a lot of the women were pressing for answers from me before I even had the answers myself.”

Amidst the challenges, Richards expressed a renewed sense of strength, sharing, “I’m clear now and I feel stronger, which I’m really grateful for because a year ago I did not feel strong. I just felt scared.”

As their separation continues, Richards emphasizes the importance of time, saying, “I need time to figure things out. Time to figure out where I’m at. It doesn’t bring me happiness to say, ‘My marriage didn’t work out,’ but I’m happy that I’m in a place where I can at least say, ‘OK, we should have these conversations.'” RHOBH airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
