Kylene Foster Shares Journey to Wheel of Fortune Episode

Tiffin, Ohio – Kylene Foster has opened up about her recent experience as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. In a pre-taping interview with local news station WOTL 11, Foster shared her journey from auditioning to filming her episode that aired Wednesday, May 28.

Before her episode aired, Foster described the excitement of being on the show. “I had the best time,” she said, noting she couldn’t disclose whether she won big. Foster was motivated to try out for the show after facing personal challenges. She explained, “I was going through a tough time and made a commitment to put myself back out there more.” Seeing the casting call on Facebook made her think, ‘This could be kind of cool.’

Despite the slim chances, Foster pursued her dream and was contacted for a Zoom interview in late September 2024. In December, she received news that she was being seriously considered, and by February, she knew her taping schedule.

Foster recalled her initial feelings after getting her tape date. “Oh my gosh! Can I do this?” she said, but added, “Heck yes. I can.” Filming required the contestants to arrive early for preparations, including understanding what they could say publicly. Foster noted that she spent about 10 hours on set before filming her segment as the sixth episode of that day’s recordings.

One highlight for Foster was meeting host Ryan Seacrest. She admitted to being starstruck at first but felt more relaxed as shooting progressed. “This is a dude I would run into at the corner bar,” she said, praising Seacrest’s personable nature. Foster also described Vanna White as down-to-earth, sharing that White greeted contestants in comfortable attire, offering encouragement before filming began.

Foster’s overall experience was more than just about prizes; it was about personal growth. “I wanted to send a message to the world: I’m still here. I’m still standing. I was down, but I was never out,” she stated. She ended her interview expressing enthusiasm for the next steps in her life.
