Kylie Kelce Shares Newborn Challenges on Podcast as Family Grows

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Kylie Kelce opened up about the challenges of parenting a newborn in her latest podcast episode, released on April 17, following the birth of her daughter Finnley on March 30. In the episode, the 33-year-old podcaster and wife of retired NFL player Jason Kelce shared insights into their nighttime baby care routine and how they manage their growing family, which now includes four daughters.
Kylie explained that she typically handles the overnight feedings while Jason, 37, takes on the day shift with their three older daughters – Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 2. “Overnights with a newborn for us typically mean that I’m waking up and doing feeds and Jason is sleeping so that he can man the toddlers during the day,” she said. “That’s how I like it. This is not about letting the man sleep; he needs rest to chase toddlers during the day.”
During the podcast, which was pre-recorded due to Kylie’s maternity leave, she addressed how each of her daughters is reacting to their new sister. “Benny is ticked off about the new baby,” Kylie revealed, explaining that Bennett wanted the new baby to be put down. “Wyatt is very excited…oh my gosh, she’s just so cute, and Ellie wants to be helpful.”
Kylie described amusing interactions, noting that Ellie is particularly fascinated with the new arrival, repeatedly asking to “touch her piggies,” despite Finnley’s need for sleep. “We’ve had a few wake-up moments just because we needed to touch piggies, and she’ll be better for it,” Kylie added.
Reflecting on Jason’s NFL career, Kylie expressed hope that their daughters will understand their father’s commitment to the sport and the city of Philadelphia, where they chose to raise their family. “He gave his blood, sweat, and tears to the city out of sheer love and commitment. I hope my girls see that,” she said.
Both Kylie and Jason, who married in 2018, have embraced the adventure of parenthood, with Kylie admitting she didn’t prepare much for Finnley’s arrival. “It’s not me,” she said about the idea of reading baby books or taking classes. Instead, the couple has opted for a practical approach, often multitasking between caring for the newborn and managing their toddlers.
In the podcast episode, Kylie mused about their post-baby routine: “Right now, I’m pretty sure we’re filling up water bottles, changing diapers, and arguing about snacks,” she joked. As the family settles into this new chapter, viewers and listeners can expect more updates on their home life and parenting adventures from the Kelce family.
