Labour Retains Control of Southampton City Council in Local Elections
Labour has successfully retained control of Southampton City Council in the local elections held on Thursday.
With 17 out of the 51 seats up for election, each representing a ward in the city, the Labour group managed to secure a majority once again.
The newly composed council consists of Labour holding 36 seats, followed by the Conservatives with 10, the Liberal Democrats with 4, and the Green Party with 1.
