Lady Gaga Hints at First Australian Tour in Nearly Eleven Years

Sydney, Australia – Pop icon Lady Gaga hinted at a potential return to Australia during an interview on The Fox’s radio show Fifi, Fev & Nick on Friday. This announcement comes along with the promotion of her new album, Mayhem, which is set to debut soon.
During the radio segment, Gaga, 38, expressed her desire to reconnect with her Australian fans after nearly eleven years since her last performance in the country. “I can’t formally announce anything, but I can tell you that I’m going to be announcing… some things,” she said with enthusiasm, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.
Gaga’s last visit took place in August 2014, as part of her ArtRave: Artpop Ball Tour. Since then, she has skipped Australia during the tours for her subsequent albums, Joanne in 2016 and Chromatica in 2020. Historically, Gaga was a regular visitor, performing across Australia almost annually since the start of her career.
Reflecting on her experiences in Australia, Gaga reminisced about the strong bond she shares with her fans. “I miss my fans there so much, I really do. I have such fond memories of being in Australia; it’s a beautiful place and I really do want to come back soon,” she said.
On the show, co-host Brendan Fevola recalled his first concert experience, revealing, “Back in 2014, I think you were the second concert I ever went to. The costume changes. The energy. I’m like: ‘Wow, what have I been missing out on?’”
Gaga responded to his nostalgia by teasing the possibility of an Australian tour. The interviewer’s excitement and the supportive reactions from co-hosts Fifi Box and Nick Cody fueled the anticipation among listeners, as they cheered, hinting at Gaga’s return.
About her upcoming project, Mayhem, Gaga described the album as an eclectic mix of genres, stating, “This album has so many different genres on it; from ‘90s grunge, industrial music, to funk music, ‘80s synth pop… it’s all my favorite things in a blender. It’s why I called it Mayhem – because it’s chaos.”
Gaga emphasized that she aimed to have fun while creating this record, mentioning the pressure she felt over the years to prove her capabilities as a musician. “I do think that I felt a lot of pressure, over the years, to prove myself as a musician. And that sometimes stopped me from having fun,” she explained.
During the interview, Lady Gaga also shared personal insights into her life, including her collaboration with her fiancé, venture capitalist Michael Polansky, on various projects, including films. She recounted how Polansky’s unconventional proposal inspired one of the songs on her new album.
As fans eagerly await Gaga’s announcements regarding potential tour dates in Australia, the excitement builds for her upcoming album debut and the possibility of experiencing her performance live once again.
