Lady Gaga, Shane Gillis Set to Host March Episodes of SNL

NEW YORK, Feb. 18, 2025 — After a star-studded 50th anniversary celebration, “Saturday Night Live” will return to its regular programming in March with two major episodes. On March 1, comedian Shane Gillis will host the show for the second time, featuring musical guest Tate McRae. A week later, on March 8, Lady Gaga will return as both host and musical guest for her second time in that dual role.

Gillis, who previously hosted SNL in February 2024, is also known for his Netflix series “Tires,” which is set to premiere its second season later this year. “Tires” follows the comedic exploits of its titular character, and its success further establishes Gillis as a significant figure in contemporary comedy.

This will be McRae’s second appearance on SNL, after her debut in November 2023. Her upcoming album, “So Close to What,” is set to release on February 21, just days before her performance. McRae expressed excitement about returning to the iconic stage, stating, “It’s such an honor to perform on SNL again. I can’t wait to share new music with everyone!”

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, who has a long history with the show, will make her return following a performance at the SNL50 concert. The Grammy Award-winning artist has hosted once and served as a musical guest four times. Gaga’s upcoming album, “Mayhem,” releases on March 7, just one day before her dual appearance on SNL. Before her new album drops, she said, “I’m thrilled to return to SNL and share my newest work with the fans. It’s always a blast to perform live!”

Following the impressive ratings of the SNL50 special aired on February 16, which became NBC’s most-watched primetime entertainment telecast in five years, the show looks to maintain its momentum.
