Lainey Wilson Funeral Song Grandparents

Nashville, TN

Lainey Wilson, a 33-year-old country music singer, has expressed her desire for an old hymn to be played at her funeral. In an interview with The Observer, she revealed that she wishes for “Beulah Land,” a hymn that both her grandparents chose for their own funerals. “They both said they wanted it played at their funeral,” she said.

Wilson, known for her hit song “Heart Like A Truck,” shared insights into her career, which began with her impersonating Hannah Montana, a character famously portrayed by Miley Cyrus in the Disney Channel series. Reflecting on her past, Wilson stated that she can no longer listen to the show’s theme song, “The Best of Both Worlds.” She explained, “It’s not because I don’t love the song anymore; it’s just that I sang it so many times, I’m never going to crank it back up.”

In an earlier interview with E! News, she expressed her admiration for Cyrus. “I used to impersonate Hannah Montana when I was little. I did that for like five years,” Wilson recalled, noting that performing as the character became a part-time job throughout her teenage years. “Every weekend I would do birthday parties, fairs, festivals, St. Jude, all of it. I would open up as Lainey Wilson for Hannah Montana,” she added.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus has been open about her past struggles with body image, especially following her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke, which led to a wave of online memes. During a recent episode of the “Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky” podcast, she discussed how the memes still affect her self-image today, influencing her choice to wear more modest swimwear.

Cyrus shared an experience from a recent vacation, revealing she opted for a tankini while others wore bikinis. “I was wearing like a tank top, and my sister teased me about my ‘grandma’ swimwear,” she said. This comment made her reflect on her insecurities linked to the past online criticism.

Additionally, Miley opened up about how her public persona influenced her relationships. “I lost everything during that time in my personal life because of the choices I was making professionally,” she shared. She emphasized that her sexual expression sometimes complicated her dating life, leading to difficulties in her personal relationships.
