Larsa Pippen Opens Up About Breakup and New Love Ahead of Reality Show

MIAMI, Fla. — Larsa Pippen is adjusting to life after a tough breakup. The social media influencer and reality star, 50, ended her relationship with Marcus Jordan, 34, in July 2024 after two years together. Pippen shared her journey of self-discovery and family focus leading up to the new season of “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which premieres Wednesday.
“I honestly didn’t date for like a year,” Pippen told The Post. She spent the time focusing on her businesses and her four children. “It was draining, and I thank God I made it out of it,” she added.
Pippen described her prior relationship as challenging. “It just felt like a really hard relationship to distance myself from,” she recalled. Now, she finds herself in a budding romance with basketball player Jeff Coby, 31, although she has not confirmed if he will appear on the show.
“I feel like if you date me, you kind of don’t have a choice because I do film a lot,” Pippen joked. “We haven’t really had that conversation on what type of role he would play, but I feel like he’s going to support me the same way I support him.”
The two met at a gym’s anniversary party and Pippen explained it was not something she planned. “It just kind of happened naturally, organically,” she said. “We weren’t looking for relationships.”
Pippen also spoke about her experience with dating apps, stating that she helped create a new platform, Date.com, powered by AI to enhance user safety and prevent catfishing. “I don’t want to give a random guy my phone number,” she said of the app’s features, which include voice and video calls without sharing personal information.
The upcoming season of the show will delve into her emotional struggles following her breakup. “This season was very emotional for me,” she admitted. “I’m normally not so emotional and I don’t always share my downfalls. When you’re in a relationship and your kids are part of it and it doesn’t work out, it’s just hard.”
Pippen emphasized the importance of her support network during this time. “On our show, we’ve been friends in real life,” she noted. “We hang out all the time. It’s almost like your sister where you’re gonna make up with the person. We have downfalls, but at the end of the day, we really love each other.”
However, she felt the support was not reciprocal during her split. “When you need someone and they’re not there for you the same way, it makes you feel bad,” she said.
Despite the changes in her personal life, Pippen’s co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband Scottie Pippen, 59, remains strong. “We’re friends, we’ve always been friends. Our relationship is strictly based on our children,” she explained.
As for her children, Pippen respects their wishes regarding their appearance on camera. “I have a couple of kids that are athletes and they don’t want the limelight,” she said. “I let them shine where they want to shine.”
Larsa is hopeful audiences will understand the challenges she faces. “Bringing someone into your life is not easy. It was a tough season for me,” she remarked. “It was hard on me. It was hard on my family.”
The new season of “The Real Housewives of Miami” premieres on Bravo on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
